Which freestyle scooter for a kid?

The golden rule: the handlebar should sit between the child's hip and navel, legs straight. Too high, and the scooter becomes hard to control; too low, and the back compensates. Also favor a lighter weight so the child can lift it and start attempting their first jumps. The Mini format of our Mini Neochrome is designed for smaller frames: lightweight, properly sized handlebar, an iridescent finish that turns heads at school and at the park alike. On age: from around 5-6 years old for getting the hang of it, 7-8 for first jumps — the key is progression (first ride, push and brake, then the bunny hop, then gentle modules). A helmet is non-negotiable, knee pads and wrist guards are strongly recommended — our protective gear and safety guide details equipment by age. To size it right from the start and avoid buying again in six months, follow the chart in our freestyle scooter size guide. As the child grows, the freestyle scooter range takes over.
